About Chaplain Dale
I'm 
Chaplain Dale Amundsen. I'm a Seattle native who has the experience and credentials to put your mind at ease about your wedding ceremony.
I hold two graduate degrees in ministry and am the former head chaplain of a major law enforcement agency. My first wedding was conducted in 1976. Not one to do "cookie cutter" ceremonies, I have officiated about a thousand customized ceremonies over these past 34 years.
As a co-pastor of the Anderson Island Community Church, I have an office in Bothell and live in Monroe. I have performed weddings and elopement ceremonies in a wide variety of locations throughout western Washington and the Cascades. The list of locations includes home plate at Safeco Field, the Space Needle observation deck, countless beaches and parks, Bremerton's Harborside Fountain Park, gardens, cruise boats, restaurants, a cemetery (honest!), an animal sanctuary, hotel ballrooms, Snoqualmie Falls, the Chinese Room at the Smith Tower, river banks, lodges, cabins, churches, chapels and living rooms.
I hold a genuine ordination; no "online credentials" here. I have the experience to handle every type of wedding situation. I believe in marriage and believe that God honors marriage. My ceremonies reflect a positive celebration of the couple without being preachy or overly ceremonial. I work with the couple to design the ceremony of their choosing. No surprise wording on wedding day! You'll like the result.
I enjoy learning about the couples I work with and bringing people and families together for your special event.
In a prior life, I was the head chaplain for the King County Sheriff. In my current "other" life I do community relations for a major Seattle funeral home; I sit on the board of directors of the Northshore Performing Arts Center and the Northsore Senior Center; I chair the board of the Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce. Very involved in community events, I'm often found donating my time as a charity auctioneer. Every fall, I host the successful Chilifest benefit for Hopelink.
My beloved Wendy shares this wonderful life journey with me. Together, we enjoy traveling this beautiful state, having special dinners, walking alongside the lake and watching the Red Green Show.
